Questions before trivia night starts.
These are the questions a venue, player, or community partner should be able to answer before committing to the night.
Does DriftTable require a live trivia host?
No dedicated professional host is required. A venue worker still opens the venue page, starts the prepared show, displays check-in, uses the host material, and manages normal room operations.
What equipment does a venue need?
A visible TV or projector, internet access, and a device that can cast or display the prepared video. Paper answer sheets are optional.
Can players use paper?
Yes. Paper and phone participation can coexist. The venue can finish remaining paper scores through its score-entry workflow.
Do players need an account?
Guest options can exist in parts of the system, but an account is needed for persistent teams, identity-linked history, venue check-in, and personal rewards.
How does QR check-in work?
The venue opens check-in for the current run and displays a QR code. The QR identifies the venue and event, then guides the player through sign-in or registration and records the check-in while the window is open.
How long does a game last?
Each venue has its own schedule. The standard configuration currently uses a 30-minute preshow and a 90-minute trivia duration, but venue defaults and individual runs can be configured.
How are venue and online scores different?
Venue play uses free-answer questions and can receive a configured leaderboard multiplier. Online play opens separately and uses multiple-choice questions. Raw scores remain visible.
What does the $35 weekly price include?
One prepared weekly package for one venue, including the show, venue edition, host material, venue controls, QR check-in, team scoring, public standings, and online continuation.
Does DriftTable guarantee a crowd or higher sales?
No. DriftTable provides a repeatable event and a known weekly cost. Attendance, orders, revenue, and customer behavior depend on the venue and its market.
Can a library use DriftTable?
Yes. The prepared-show format can support library and community programming. The first library partner will also help prove and improve that specific workflow.
What happens if the internet drops?
The venue should verify its display and internet before the event. Some phone and paper work can continue locally, but online check-in, account features, protected materials, and score submission require connectivity.
